Roemer van Oordt is a political scientist, specialized in Middle Eastern studies. He wrote his Master's thesis on the foreign policy of Gamal Abdul Nasser (Egypt) and did research on the water and settlement policies of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and on political islam.
Over the last 20 years Van Oordt has been active in the field of integration issues. He is a researcher, publicist, adviser and project manager at Zasja and editor at Republiek Allochtonië and polderislam.nl. His most recent research and project development mainly focus on processes of exclusion, discrimination and radicalization among Muslim youth and on the institutionalization of Islam in the Netherlands.
