Sami Al-Daghistani (1986) obtained double-major BA in Sociology of Culture and Comparative Literature at University of Ljubljana. He spent one semester at Utrecht University (2007-2008), and one year at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Sarajevo (2010). He studied Arabic in early 2011 during the uprisings in Cairo, and in Rabat in 2012.

Sami has obtained his ResMA Middle East Studies (specialization in Islamic Studies) in July 2013 at Leiden University with a thesis entitled ‘Imam al-Ghazali’s Perspectives on Economics, Ethics, and State in Islam’. In September 2013 he started working on his PhD study at Leiden and Münster University, inquiring upon the history of Islamic Economics and the role of Social Justice within an Islamic milieu.
